Grow Abroad offers a unique summer experience for the Asheville community. Each year, we welcome students from around the world to spend a few weeks of their summer with us. During their stay, students are hosted by local volunteer families and attend day camp Monday through Friday.

Hiring for the following positions:
Activity Leader
Activity Leaders are integral into what we do at Grow Abroad Asheville’s Language & Culture camp. Integrated activities are one of the ways that camp fosters cultural exchange. In the afternoons, and on full days once a week (typically Thursday), our American students and our International students participate in activities together. Activity Leaders are responsible for driving the students and leading fun excursions such as:
Preferred Qualifications:
Details: June-August, 2023. Typically 4 days a week, one full day, working with International students (ages 13-16) and American Day campers (ages 9-16). Some Saturdays are requested.

In the afternoons, and on full days once a week (typically Thursday), our American students and our International students participate in activities together. Activity Leaders are responsible for driving the students and leading fun excursions such as:
- Hikes, waterfalls and swimming holes
- Theme Parks
- Tubing
- Scavenger Hunts downtown
- Community Service with local non-profit organizations
- And much more!
- Able to work as a collaborative member of a team, AND confident leading groups of students solo.
- Have a clear driving record/feel comfortable driving a 15 passenger van
- Hold a valid CPR/First Aid certification
- Pass a Background Check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Have experience teaching, OR
- Have experience in summer camps
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Foreign Language, or a related field, or working towards a degree.
